Superior Wireless Towers, Poles, and Concealment Structures

We are established as a superior supplier of wireless towers, poles, and concealment structures. Our customers include the nation’s major wireless carriers, large project management companies, contractors, states, counties, and municipalities. Between our various industry-recognized certifications and in-house expertise, we are confident we can help get your standard or custom projects completed on time and within budget.

Our Structures are designed to Tower Industry Association (TIA), Electrical Industry Association (EIA), International Building Council (IBC), and other local design and building codes standards as required. We also have extensive experience designing and fabricating structures to meet the strict requirements of the California Department of State Architects (DSA).

Whether your company needs self-supporting structures, monopoles, or concealment structures, we are here to help. We have countless examples of successful projects covering a wide range of unique and challenging requirements.

Self-Supporting Structures and Towers

A self-supporting tower can be designed to support virtually any number and type of antennas. A four-leg tower can be used to support many heavy parabolic antennas with multiple azimuths whereas a three-legged tower can be oriented to best accommodate the typical three-sector cellular antenna array. Wind loading and twist & sway can more easily be managed with a self-supporting tower. If required, it can be easier to upgrade the capacity of a self-supporting tower than a monopole. Self-supporting structures come in smaller pieces and can be easier to get to remote sites with poor access.

Monopole Structures

A monopole generally has a smaller footprint and smaller foundations and are great for tighter sites. Monopoles also have fewer parts and can be erected in as little as a day saving onsite time for a crane and crew. Antenna supports can be mounted 360° around the pole.

Concealment Structures

A concealment structure can be a self-supporting tower designed to look like just about anything. Previous projects have been made to look  like water tanks, church bell towers, clock towers, and lookout towers. Concealment structures can also be monopoles designed to like trees, church crosses, flag poles, or light poles. Concealment structures can even be made to look like parts of existing buildings such as church steeples or cupolas. Concealment structures are limited only by imagination.

A self-supporting tower disguised as a water tank can house multiple wireless carriers and be used where a standard self-supporting tower would be an eyesore. A monopole disguised as a tree would accomplish the same thing but fit into a smaller area. A concealment structure made to look like a clock tower can be an actual clock tower but also house wireless carriers. The concealment approach can be a win-win for both the wireless carriers and the entity in need of a clock tower. The same applies to a church with a need for a cross or other religious-themed structure such as a bell tower. A flag pole that is also a wireless site may make it easier to get zoning approval.

Track Record

Steelhead has a proven track record in the custom wireless arena. We are proud of numerous successful projects and industry patents. However, we are most proud of the relationships and trust we’ve earned along the way.

Over the past two decades, we’ve amassed an extensive database of “like projects” as reference models to streamline our engineering and detailing processes that can be used to benefit you and your company's next project.

No matter what the project we consistently surpass strict budgetary, engineering, and time frame requirements inherent in the fast-paced world of wireless network deployment and look forward to doing the same for you.
